Pre-Underwriting Specialist

Position Responsibilities:

A Pre-Underwriting Specialist reviews and enters finance applications from small to mid-sized businesses and coordinates the processing of a customer transaction with Sales and Credit. This includes evaluating the documentation provided to determine its completeness and that all requirements have been met. In addition, the Pre-Underwriting Specialist is responsible for receiving and entering bank statements into the record prior to Underwriting starting. The best candidates will be detailed, self-motivated, and team oriented and eager to be a part of a rapidly growing business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily application flow
  • Ensure all applications are properly processed
  • Enter and review bank statements
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures
  • Foster good working relationships with internal staff and partners
  • Maintain customers and accounts within system of record
  • Performing other duties as required

Skills and Specifications:

  • Must be able to multitask and be highly adaptable to change
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills and motivation for personal growth
  • Required knowledge of computer and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Good typing skills
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Friendly and personable

Education and Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year degree is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience as an operations coordinator or similar role

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Monthly applications entered
  • Applications entered within SLA
  • Monthly dollars funded
  • Monthly units funded
