We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our team!

Channel is seeking to add a Data Engineer to our growing Data Warehouse Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and designing data pipelines in Azure Synapse Analytics. The pipelines developed by the Data Engineer will facilitate Channel’s analytics and reporting needs, driving value across a data-driven company that is growing quickly.

Key TAsks: 

• Data Pipeline Support: Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines, including ETL processes, data integration, and data transformation.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that move and transform data from various sources to the data warehouse. This includes ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Data Transformation: Transform and prepare raw data into a usable format for analytics and reporting. This includes data cleansing, aggregation, and enrichment.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL Server, SalesForce, CosmosDB, as well as others, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Data Quality: Implement data quality checks and data validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of data pipelines, data models, and processes for knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
• Production Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve data-related issues, and ensure data pipeline reliability.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide data support for analytical projects.

EDUCATION & qUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Computer Science.
• Knowledge working with relational databases including writing SQL Queries to extract, cleanse and transform data.
• Experience with one or more coding languages including Python, R, Scala, Java.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills related to working with data.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience of working as a team to achieve a common goal.
• Strong interest in data engineering and data-related technologies.
• Desire to learn about the ever-changing cloud platforms and data technologies.
• Willingness to learn about data warehousing and governance principals.
